Karin Ahl was elected president in April 2012, and re-elected for the same position March 2013. The year before, in April 2011, she was elected Board member & Treasurer. She got involved in the FTTH Council Europe through the, at that time, new Business Committee and its work on the Business Guide in 2009. Early 2010 Karin was appointed the vice-chair position in this Committee and was, during the General Assembly in April, elected chair.

Matthias Nass was elected Board member and Treasurer in April 2012, and re-elected for the same positions March 2013.

Edgar Aker was re-elected Board member in April 2012. Edgar Aker is board member since October 2011, replacing Albert Grooten as Prysmian representative in the board. Edgar has been working in the FTTH Council Europe since 2007, first as a member of the Deployment & Operations (D&O) committee (2007-2009). In 2009 he became a member of the Business Committee (BC), last year acting in this committee as the vice-chairman.

Carlos Barroqueiro was elected Board member in April 2012. Since 2008 he has been active in the FTTH Council and support to organize the FTTH Conference LISBON 2010 - Chairing the Lisbon Organization Group. He also organized the Session “The Portuguese Case on FTTH” – Lisbon 2010 and the Session: “The Entertainment Industry over the FTTH Era” – Munich 2012. Carlos Barroqueiro is now involved in the FTTH Council Global Alliance Group.

Pär Cedergren was elected Board member in April 2012.

Werner De Wolf was elected Board Member March 2013.

Eric Festraets was re-elected Board member in April 2012. He was first elected Board member in April 2010. In 2007 Eric joined the FTTH Council Europe as vice-chairman of the Deployment and Operations Committee and in March 2009, Eric took over the chair position of this committee.

Pastora Valero was re-elected Board member in April 2012. She was first elected Board member in April 2010 for two years. She has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since its foundation in 2004. She has always been an active member of the Policy & Regulation Committee, and served as chair and vice-chair in the past. Pastora is now Board liason for the Policy and Regulatory Expert Group.

Gerlas van den Hoven was elected Board member in April 2012. Since 2010 Gerlas has been active in the FTTH Council with a special focus on content and applications. He is now involved in the World of Applications committee.

Chair: Dr. Rong Zhao was elected Chair of the Deployment & Operations Committee in March 2013. He has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since 2012, as vice-chair and project manager of the D&O committee.

Committee: This committee discusses all technical aspects of fibre networks. This includes the passive and active part of the network as well as the deployment methods, network architectures and new fibre technologies. The Deployment & Operations Committee has created white papers in the last year on access technologies and wireless/fibre synergies. The Committee is also responsible for producing and revising the FTTH Handbook, which was created a few years ago to help network operators understand the options available for fibre access network infrastructure.
