As the broadband sector continued its expansion, addressing sustainability challenges became a key priority for industry stakeholders. Reducing environmental impact, promoting energy-efficient network deployment, and integrating ESG strategies across the fibre ecosystem were critical to ensuring a responsible and resilient digital future.
This 60-minute keynote session took place in the opening block of the FITCE Fibre Congress, bringing together around 150–180 representatives from the Belgian fibre community, including operators, solution providers, and policymakers. The session highlighted actionable insights and strategies for sustainable network development, followed by a brief Q&A segment.
The FTTH Council Europe contributed expert perspectives on how the industry could leverage fibre infrastructure to enhance sustainability outcomes, sharing recommendations and best practices to support the sector’s environmental and social objectives. In-person participation was encouraged to engage directly with the discussion and network with industry peers.
