President Eric Festraets represented the voice of the FTTH Council Europe at the next fibre optic event jointly organised by the Finnet Association and the Finnish regional Network Association in Tampere, Finland. The summit, which gathered together over 250 representatives from fibre leading operators, partners, investors and authorities, touched upon several topics of interest for the acceleration of fibre networks in the country. Our President's speech took stock of the current FTTH/B market figures in Europe, with particular focus on the balance between deployment and take-up. The discussion also delved into the key trends the Council is observing today, with the explosion of fibre investment across Europe, as well as the technologies currently gaining more traction, with a constant eye on the challenges that the fibre industry will need to address in the near future.
