The Dutch FTTH Platform kicked off its working groups in Houten, the Netherlands. Around 50 people came together to initiate activities to promote the deployment of FTTH in the Netherlands.

‘Fibra’ sold over the counter in Portugal

At the General Assembly, 27-28 October at Lisbon, several members of the FTTH Council Europe have witnessed first hand that fibre technology is making it’s way to the Portuguese consumer. Several operators are actively selling ultra-high-speed broadband at attractive prices. Consumer brands like ‘Clix’ (Sonaecom) and Meo (Portugal Telecom) are supported by TV commercials.
